Joint Services Commendation Medal

The Joint Service Commendation Medal is awarded by the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Department of Defense agencies or joint activities to members of the Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by meritorious achievement or service after January 1, 1965. Members of all services are eligible.

This decoration was authorized in June 1963.
