Angus House is a
short to medium term accommodation facility situated in the
suburb of Toowong, just seven kilometres from the
centre of Brisbane.
Angus House provides supported accommodation
for veterans and other eligible persons and their
families in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere
which is private and relaxed.
We aim to provide accommodation for
veterans and others homeless as a result of
crisis, as well as providing short-term
accommodation for veterans needing specialist
medical care or counselling.

Time
Time for self and recovery, or time to spend
with new friends, or join in activities such as
woodwork, and leather-work, or just indulge with
solitude.
Plenty of peaceful spaces, gardening or work
out in the gym.
Spacious grounds, a nearby park, close to the
city, transport, shopping and medical facilities.

Space
How much will it cost?
Angus House is partially funded by a Government
grant, however a resident contribution of $15.00
per day normally applies. This covers an
evening meal, a light breakfast, and lunch.

Refuge
Angus House provides a refuge from your
worries or a referral to expert help,
counsellors or other appropriate health
workers. The Angus House manager is able to
assist with these needs.
The Angus House manager will provide assistance
with finding alternative accommodation when the
time is right.

How do I get
accommodation?
|

| Most often you will be
referred by a Counsellor of the VVCS or another
organisation. You can also telephone Angus
House directly.
You will speak to the manager who will take
your details and determine your needs within the
availability of accommodation. The manager
will also explain to you the daily procedures at
Angus House. If this is mutually suitable,
the manager will arrange your accommodation.

Angus House is a
registered charitable institution and any
donations or bequests are gratefully accepted.

| The premises are owned by
the Returned and Services League of Australia,
Queensland Branch and operated by the Vietnam
Veterans Association of Australia, Queensland
Branch Inc.
Funding provided through the Supported
Accommodation Assistance Program, an initiative of
the Department of Families, Youth and Community
Care.
